Tales from the System Part 2: Systemic Solutions for Black Adolescents and Black MH Professionals

Building on Part 1 where the traumatic impact of working within MH systems of care were explored by Black Therapists, Part 2 provides insight on changes that can be made to not only address but reduce incidents of trauma experienced by Black Adolescents and Black Professionals. The focus will not only be on remedying the current concerns, but proactively reducing the likelihood of further traumatization. Strategies will be identified to address Systemic Racism within the field of MH which involve challenges to the status quo. This will also include an exploration on how to repair the distrust that helps to fuel the stigma of mental health within communities of color.
