“Unaliving” Vs. Suicide: Navigating Mental Health Challenges in Youth

In today's rapidly changing world, young individuals between the ages of 16 and 24 face unique challenges that can impact their mental well-being. As mental health training facilitators, it is essential to equip ourselves with the tools to effectively address self-harm and suicide within this age group. Culturally competent language and communication are crucial to creating safe and supportive spaces for youth to express their feelings and seek help. This CEU aims to empower participants with the necessary knowledge and skills to engage with young individuals in a sensitive and understanding manner.

3 Simple Learning Objectives for Workshop:

Learning Objective 1: Understanding the Significance of Culturally Competent Language

Learning Objective 2: Effective Communication Strategies for Addressing Self-Harm and Suicide

Learning Objective 3: Creating Supportive Environments and Promoting Mental Health Awareness
